Harper and Karasik’s distinct sculptural work shares an evolving interest in connection. Loops, links and chains cascade throughout both their practices taking form as delicate hung compositions in Harper’s mobiles and weighty, tactile (and sometimes wearable!) sculptures in Karasik’s ceramics. This summer show at the White Box Gallery in Blackheath Village brings their work together for the first time, celebrating movement, connection and shaking off the chains of the past in search of a more hopeful future.

Rachel Karasik is a ceramics artist based in Hastings, UK. She holds a BA in Criticism, Communication and Curation from Central Saint Martins, and an MA in Anthropology of Food from SOAS. Her work plays with absurdity and themes of protection, history, and fragility of both ourselves and the systems that surround us.

They are a regular contributor to the Guardian Opinion section, a member of the Design Council Homes Taskforce and former Director of Open House Worldwide.
